Heidi Mullen, DO, FAAD, FAOCD
Heidi Mullen, DO, FAAD, FAOCD, was born and raised in Southern California where she enjoyed spending time making sandcastles at the beach, fixing up cars with her dad, and backpacking in the Sierra Nevadas with her family. After graduating from University of California San Diego with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, she was recruited by a local biotechnology firm, where she focused on building customer relationships and bringing novel pharmaceuticals to Phase I-III clinical trials. Ever the adventurer, during this time she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with her family, making it to the summit just as the sun was rising.
As a child, Dr. Mullen had told her parents that she wanted to become a physician, and she began that dream when she matriculated at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Even as a first-year medical student, she had a passion for skin and volunteered at skin cancer awareness events throughout the Valley of the Sun. Based on academic achievement, she was awarded entrance to Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Medical Society as a third-year medical student.
Professional affiliations include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and American Medical Association. She maintains dual board certification with the American Board of Dermatology and the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. Dr. Mullen’s interests span general and procedural dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer prevention and management, hair loss, and bullous disorders.
Dr. Mullen splits her time between the beautiful Valley of the Sun and the New Hampshire Seacoast. When she is not working, her favorite hobby is spending time with her husband, twin boys, daughter, and her beloved extended family in Arizona.
